Trainee Success Story – Khushbu Patel

Khushbu Patel is leading the personal utility arm of the IMPACT-AD study (www.impactAD.org) which is investigating the impact of Alzheimer’s disease biomarker testing on patients and their family members. Through her research we are learning first-of-its-kind information on the value of Alzheimer’s disease biomarker testing from persons with lived experience with dementia. In a two-part Dementia Dialogue podcast series, Khushbu (in episode 2), joins two participants in the IMAPCT-AD study where they share their story on their journey living with Alzheimer’s disease and their experiences participating in the IMPACT-AD study. The episode 2 podcast also highlights the incredible value of patient-oriented research and the engagement of persons with lived experience in research, and the tremendous work Khushbu led to help capture these perspectives.

Khushbu Patel is a Master’s student at the University of British Columbia under the supervision of Dr. Mari DeMarco.
