The CCNA Training and Capacity Building Program ran the second Mining CCNA Gold, COMPASS-ND workshop in Vancouver, BC on April 13th, 2023. Mining CCNA Gold is a workshop that  teaches trainees how to access COMPASS-ND data using the LORIS platform and highlights exciting new findings coming out of the COMPASS-ND study. CCNA trainees take center stage to present their contributions to data retrieval and analysis. This year’s workshop featured hands-on learning with the LORIS Platform – this was in response to what we heard from trainees who attended the first CCNA Mining Gold workshop online in 2022. We were pleased to have Dr. Jane Rylett, Scientific Director of the CIHR Institute of Aging give welcome remarks and join us for the workshop. Twenty-two trainees received travel funds to join us in Vancouver.

We would like to sincerely thank our presenters without whom this workshop would not be possible including Dr. Michael Borrie, Dr. Natalie Phillips, Randi Pilon, Charlie Henri-Bellemare, Camille Beaudoin, Ikrame Housni, Dr. AmanPreet Badhwar, Dr. Linzy Bohn, Dr. Peggy McFall, Luc Rivet, Dr. Shankar Tumati, and Nick Grunden. We would also like to thank the Canadian Geriatrics Society Annual Scientific Meeting for allowing us to hold the workshop at the Vancouver Sheraton Wall Centre.

The workshop was supported with funding from the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
